Alan M. Smith, 47, of Apalachin, New York, passed away unexpectedly at home on April 4, 2026.
Alan was predeceased by his grandparents, Ron and Margaret Dibble, Arthur Smith, Sr. and Marilyn Smith, his Uncles Steven and Edward Smith and his cousin Nathan Smith.
He is survived by his parents: Laura Smith and Kenneth (Karen) Smith, brothers Justin and Brandon.
Alan graduated from Vestal High School and Pennsylvania Culinary Institute. His love of video games didn’t take away from his need for perfection in the kitchen when at work. Food was a passion. He had a love of books, mostly fantasy and science fiction but especially Robert Heinlein. And he not only did the NY Times Daily Crossword, but made several puzzles of his own
He will be sorely missed by those who love him.
A visitation will be held from 3 to 5 pm on Tuesday, April 14, 2026 at the Allen Memorial Home, 511-513 E. Main St., Endicott, NY.
