On Sunday, March 30, 2014, we lost a gifted man, Andrew Sedor 94 of Endicott, who lived his life to the fullest and died at his home in the arms of his beloved wife of 20 years, Maria, whom he was very caring, devoted and a loving husband. He was predeceased by his first wife Irma; parents; George and Mary (Zubal) Sedor; his brothers, John; Bill and George Sedor and their wives; his sisters, Ann Sitch; Helen Tobey and Mary Hlopko and their husbands; very dear brother in law Frank Boris and friend Steve Kuracina. Besides his wife Maria, he is survived by his daughter Andrea (Walter) Faber and granddaughter Samantha (Nathan) Shock, all of Texas, a brother Steve Sedor, Binghamton; step daughter Lenka (Vladimir) Dostalek, California and step son Daniel Kokosh and fiancée Stanislava Kluckova, Ireland; four step grandchildren, whom he adored and loved so much, Patricia; Daniel; Dominick and Lea; his extended family in Slovakia, where he loved to travel and enjoyed to spend time with. He will be dearly missed by four sisters in law Anna, Irena and Melania, and their families, all in Slovakia and Viera Menchetti and family, Florida; three brothers in laws and their families, Miki and Miro, Slovakia and Vasil (Tatiana) Bereznanin, New York; a very special niece Lorrie Oetting, Lancaster PA and many other nieces, nephews and friends in America and in Slovakia. Andrew was a very hard working man, avid gardener and fisherman, especially with long time fishing buddy Reverend Father Adam Keltos, OFM Conv. He was a veteran of W.W.II, serving in the US Air Force, as well a being a member of the American Legion Post 82, Endicott. After an honorable discharge from the military he worked as Village of Endicott Building Inspector for 12 years. But his life
career was Fire Chief of the Endicott Fire department, retiring after 28 of service. After retirement he continued to be active member and president of fire volunteer retirees until 2012. His life was blessed with a good health and also received excellent care from Dr. Frank Floyd and Dr. Hisham Kashou. He was devoted member of St Joseph Church, Endicott. His enthusiasm for life was inspiring to many of his friends and people around him. Andrew’s family would like to thank the staff of Lourdes Hospice Program, for all their care and compassion.
Funeral Services will be held Thursday 9:30 am from the Allen Memorial Home, 511-513 East Main Street, Endicott, followed by a Funeral Mass at St. Joseph’s Church at 10 am. Burial will be in Slovak Catholic Cemetery, Binghamton. The family will receive friends at the Allen Memorial Home, Wednesday from 4-6 pm. Expressions of sympathy in his memory may be made to St. Joseph’s Church, 207 Hayes Avenue, Endicott, NY 13760.
