Anna “Ann” Giovinazzo

Anna (Ann) Louise Giovinazzo 84, long time resident of Binghamton, passed away in comfort care at Willow Point Nursing Home in Vestal on September 27, 2018. Ann was the beloved wife and best friend of the late Santo A. Giovinazzo. Devoted mother of her son Michael and daughter-in-law Tammy of Binghamton; two daughters and sons-in-law, Angela and Tom Duke of Mt. Laurel, NJ, Christine and Jim Smith of Baldwinsville, NY. She has nine grandchildren and their spouses whom she loved and cherished that gave her endless joy and happiness, Maria (Dante) DePersis, Thomas (Andrea) Giovinazzo, Matthew Duke, Regina (Sean) Smith, Colleen Duke; Brian, Claire, Connor and Bridget Smith. Ann was also blessed with three precious great-grandchildren; Gino and Evelina DePersis, and Wren Duke. Dearly beloved sister Helen Miller of Binghamton. Thanksgiving will always be Ann’s most cherished holiday because it was shared with those she loved the most. She truly loved cooking and baking, especially making cookies at Christmastime to share with family and friends. Ann also had a unique gift to recognize and appreciate the talents in others and to make them feel loved and lifted by her presence. A very special thank you to Dr. Steven Spivak for his wonderful care and compassion to Ann over the years. Our family would like to offer our heartfelt thanks and gratitude to the doctors and staff of Lourdes Hospital, especially Dr. Madhuri Yalamanchili, her Oncologist, and Dr. Mohammad Zakaria Majeed, Hospitalist, and to the Willow Point Nursing staff who gifted our family with exceptional care, support, personal attention and professional services during her last few months of care. We will forever be grateful to all who touched Ann and our lives.
A funeral mass and celebration of life will be held on Saturday, October 13, 2018 at 10 am at Sts. John and Andrew Church, 1263 Vestal Avenue, Binghamton, NY. In lieu of flowers our family requests that donations be made to The Loaves & Fishes Food Pantry, 1263 Vestal Avenue, Binghamton, NY 13903.
