Arthur David Drewry, 93, went to be with his Lord on July, 12, 2026. Art was born on February 16, 1933 to the late James Drewry and Valentine (Danquigny). Art went to Binghamton North High School and went on to serve his country as an Army Combat Veteran in the Korean War. He came home and married his true love, Louise M. Engle, who predeceased him on June 24, 2009. They were happily married for 56 years.
Art was an owner-operator truck driver then owned Endrew Car Leasing and Renting for many years. Afterwards he worked at Willow Run Foods and retired as Vice President of Operations.
Art and his brother, Dan, were avid tennis, golf, pickle ball, and ping pong players as well as being members of the Southerntiersman Barbershop Chorus and the Parlor City Four quartet. Art was a very social, entertaining person with a great wit and sense of humor. He wanted to get to know, converse, and have some laughs with everyone he met in life.
Art was predeceased by his brother, Rev. Robert Drewry, and his wife, Clara. He was also predeceased by his cherished friend, Jewel Marsh, and his sister-in-law, Patricia, wife of Dan Drewry. He will be deeply missed by his daughter, Debbie Drewry and her life partner, Steve Cross, daughter Denise Koentje and her husband, John, his grandson, Kyle (Patricia) and their children Jakob and Charlotte, and his grandson, Thomas (Emily), and their children, Theodore, Otto, and George. He is also survived by his brother and best friend, Daniel Drewry, and many nieces and nephews.
Our family extends its heartfelt gratitude to the many nurses, physicians, and staff at UMH Hilltop Campus and Elizabeth Church Manor for their tireless dedication, compassionate care, and kind words for Art.
Funeral Services for Art will be held on Tuesday, July 21st at 1 pm at the Allen Memorial Home, 511-513 E. Main Street, Endicott. Burial will be in Vestal Hills Memorial Park, Vestal. The family will receive friends on Tuesday at the Allen Memorial Home from 12 pm until Service time at 1 pm.
