Barbara Ann Rake

Barbara A. Rake, 86, of Apalachin, NY, was reunited with her husband on March 2, 2026. She passed away peacefully at her home. She is predeceased by her husband of 55 years, Roger A. Rake, and her parents, Francis and Elsie (Ennis) Nystrom.
She is survived by her two sons and daughters in law, Richard and Marie Rake of Katy, TX, and Robert and Cindy Rake of Lisle, NY; her daughter, Heather Rivenbark of Wilmington, NC; four grandchildren, Rissa, Sean, Amber, and Ryan; one great grandchild, Landon; as well as several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Barbara graduated from Union-Endicott High School in the class of 1958. Barbara retired from Bank of New York / Key Bank after many years of dedicated service at the Vestal Round Bank at Four Corners. She was a lifelong Buffalo Bills fan, attending many games in person, and a proud member of Legion Post 82 in Endicott, NY.
A passionate bowler, Barbara traveled with friends to tournaments across the country. Her achievements include induction into the: Southern Tier USBC Hall of Fame (2006), New York State Bowling Hall of Fame (2020), and the New York State 600 Club Hall of Fame (2021).
She served as Sergeant at Arms for the local USBC for 35 years, a role she was honored to hold.
The family extends a heartfelt thank you to the wonderful members of the Monday Night Women’s League at Ripic Lanes for their unwavering support and care. Your kindness will never be forgotten.
Family and friends are invited to call on Thursday, March 12th from 5:00 – 7:00 PM at Allen Memorial Home, 511–513 East Main Street, Endicott, NY. Funeral services will be held Friday, March 13th at 10:00 AM at the funeral home. Pastor Steve Chastain will officiate. Entombment will follow at Riverhurst Cemetery in Endwell.
In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made to the Broome County ASPCA in memory of Barbara and in honor of her beloved dog, Riley.
