Barbara Ann Sitler

Barbara Ann Sitler, 90, of Endwell, New York, passed away peacefully on June 16, 2026. Born on May 10, 1936, in Plymouth, Pennsylvania, Barbara lived a life of remarkable grace, quiet achievement, and boundless love for her family and community.
A woman of sharp mind and generous spirit, Barbara distinguished herself early, graduating as valedictorian of her Nescopeck, PA high school class. She chose the noble calling of homemaker, devoting her energy and heart to raising her family with warmth and dedication that touched all who knew her.
Barbara’s life was one of joyful pursuits. She played in golf leagues for 50 years at Newark Valley and Ford Hill well into her mid-eighties — a testament to her vigor and competitive spirit. Her needles were rarely idle; she knitted sweaters, blankets, and mittens for all of her children and grandchildren, wrapping generations in her handiwork and love.
Barbara worked with her husband Wayne’s woodworking business, providing tin punching and finishing work on grandfather clocks and furniture they built for themselves, family and friends.
An avid traveler, Barbara embraced the world with curiosity and enthusiasm. She and Wayne pulled a travel trailer with the family to Florida and Myrtle Beach every spring, weeks at Greenwood Park and camping around the east coast with a caravan of friends. After retirement, she traveled to national parks throughout the United States as well as visits to Argentina and multiple countries of Europe.
Barbara gave generously to her community as well, volunteering as a Brownie leader and homeroom mother. She was a lifelong member of Endwell United Methodist Church.
She is survived by her children, Anne Sitler and Mark Sitler and his wife Carol; seven grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren, who will forever carry the warmth of her sweaters and the memory of her love.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Wayne Sitler, and her daughter, Karen Vasteno.
Funeral Services for Barbara will be held on Monday, June 22nd at 12 pm at the Allen Memorial Home, 511-513 E. Main Street, Endicott. Burial will be in Vestal Hills Memorial Park, Vestal. The family will receive friends on Monday at the Allen Memorial Home from 11 am until Service time at 12 pm.
