Bertha Elizabeth (Cenova) Rutkowski, age 90 of Maine passed away Sunday, March 13, 2016 after living a full and happy life. Bertha was born on September 3, 1925 in Endicott, NY. Survived by her husband of 66 years, Walter. Bertha was predeceased by her parents, Rose and Stanley Cenova. She was preceded in death by her sister, Marion (Cenova) Rounds and brother, Stephen Cenova (Barbara) and is survived by her brother Stanley Cenova of Smyrna Mills, Maine. She is survived by sons, David (Helen), of Endicott, Michael (Patricia) of Pittsburgh, PA and Daniel (Kathy allace),of Newark Valley. Cherished and beloved grandmother of ten grandchildren, Catherine (Marcus) Bernardo of Cortland, David W. Rutkowski, Jr. of Johnson City, Joseph (Carrie) Rutkowski of Newark Valley, Patrick Rutkowski of Endicott, Colleen (Jason) Tyler of Pittsburgh, Michael Rutkowski of Pittsburgh, Jaclyn Rutkowski of Oneonta, Matthew (Jamie) Rutkowski of Winston Salem, North Carolina, Thaddeus (Katie) Rutkowski of Triangle and Elizabeth Rutkowski of Cortland. She is survived bynine great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Bertha retired from Grand Way in 1979 after many years of service. She enjoyed crocheting, making pierogi, baking kolache, and enjoying delicious Sunday dinners and holidays with her family.
Friends and relatives will be received at the Allen Memorial Home, 511-513 East Main Street, Endicott, Thursday from 4-7. Funeral services will be held Friday at 10:15 am from the Allen Memorial Home, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at Most Holy Rosary Church, Maine, NY at 11 am, with graveside service to follow at the Maine Cemetery. The family requests that donations in lieu of flowers be made to West Corners Lions Club, 509 Carl Street, Endicott, NY 13760.
