Carmine C. Colombo

Carmine Charles Colombo (Charlie) of Endicott, NY, passed away peacefully at home September 1, 2026 at the age of 98, surrounded by his loving family.


Born in Brooklyn, New York in 1928, Charlie lived a long and full life centered around family, hard work, and enjoying the people around him. He proudly served in the United States Army during World War II and ultimately made his career working construction in New York City.


He was predeceased by his beloved wife, Martha, in 2022. She was the love of his life and his favorite dancing partner. Together, they could often be found dancing the night away. He was also predeceased by his parents Margaret and Vincent James; his siblings Josephine (Jojo), Anna, Tommy, Nicky, and Ducky; and his son-in-law, Big John.


Charlie was truly the life of any party. He loved good food, dancing, and music--especially Frank Sinatra. Most of all, Charlie loved being surrounded by family and friends; whether he was dancing, sharing a good meal, or simply spending time with the people he loved, Charlie knew how to enjoy life.


He was also incredibly creative and happiest when he was working with his hands. He loved spending time in his garage making things, including birdhouses, canes, clay mushrooms, wooden flower boxes, and whatever else his imagination inspired him to create. His handmade creations became little pieces of him that family and friends will enjoy and remember him by.


After 98 remarkable years, Charlie leaves behind a large and loving family, including his eight children: Richard and his wife Marga; James and his wife Colleen; Karen; Carmine, Jr. and his wife, Maureen; Cynthia and her husband, Cono; Candace and her husband, Carlos; Dominic and his wife, Kim; Jacqueline and her partner, Joseph; his 14 beautiful grandchildren, and his 20 lovely great-grandchildren; his sister, Rose; and his many wonderful nieces, nephews, and cousins. He also leaves behind Nan, his bonus daughter, and Nettie, whose care and kindness over the past two years meant so much to him and to his family.


Charlie will be remembered for his love of family and friends, his creativity, his hardworking spirit, his love of a good meal, and, of course, his ability to light up a room and dance the night away.

Funeral Services for Charlie will be held on Saturday, September 12th at 3 pm at the Allen Memorial Home, 511-513 E. Main Street, Endicott. The family will receive friends on Saturday at the Allen Memorial Home from 1 pm until Service time at 3 pm.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you please donate to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, a charity that Charlie and Martha donated to for many years.
