Carol Ann Nagorny

On September 20, 2026, Carol Nagorny was reunited in heaven with the love of her life for 45 years, J. Robert “Robby” Nagorny, who passed away in 2008. She is survived by her five children, Michael and his wife Kristen, William, and his wife Laura, Stephen, and his wife Rachel, Thomas, and Leesa, and her husband Rick. In addition, she is survived by seven grandchildren whom she loved being surrounded by, Madison, Robby, Kate, Ava, Carly, Emma, and Jack. Also, surviving Carol are her sisters Diane, Elaine, brothers Norman, Roger, and Donald Jr. Carol was predeceased by her mother and father, Dorothy and Winfred Quinn, and big sister Beverly.

Carol and Robby met on a blind date in 1964, and it was love at first sight! They got married in 1968 and shortly after had their first child. They would go on to not only raise a strong, wonderful family, but also build one of the most reputable businesses on the south side of Binghamton, Robby’s Wine & Liquor. There, Carol was the calming presence in what was a busy, fast paced environment. Everyone who had the opportunity to meet Carol only had the best things to say about her.

There is no one who loved their family, especially her children, more than Carol. She was a giving person who always helped others and never expected anything in return or wanted to be recognized for her graciousness. Carol came from a hard-working family herself, proudly growing up on a farm and speaking fondly of those days and lessons she learned in Windsor, NY. She was proud of her relationship with God and never judged anyone, always accepted everyone the way they were. Carol had a creative mind and always came up with wonderful ideas, probably missing her call to be an inventor. She loved trivia and any type of activities that would challenge one’s mind. Carol always wanted to travel when she was a child and was able to realize that dream with her daughter. When Leesa was playing in nationwide softball tournaments as a teenager, she was right there by her side in all the travels. Carol would meet fellow parents whom she ended up having great friendships with and stories that never got old. For the boys, she never griped about 5 a.m. hockey practices in sub-freezing weather, baseball games, or bike races. She was there whenever they needed her, even multiple trips to the ER. Carol also spoiled rotten the three dachshund dogs, Morgan, Robby and Rudy, that provided so much comfort and joy to her over the years.

In addition to all the joy her five children brought her she was especially proud to be a grandmother and cherished her grandchildren. She was there for them from the moment they were born. The relationships and time she had with her grandkids kept Carol strong in the years after losing Robby and gave her a great sense of purpose. She was always willing to get down on the floor to play with them, talk to them, joke with them, and have life

discussion when they wanted to talk about anything. Grandma Carol will be missed, but her voice and cherished advice will never be forgotten.

In Carol’s last years she was blessed to remain in her home, a home that she and Robby worked so hard for. This is when some of her strongest relationships in her life would form, unbeknownst to her. Jakki and Haley would become a special part of her life, and cherished women to her, as she was unable to maintain the lifestyle she once knew. In addition, the others who cared for her will also have a very special place in her heart. Carol will be missed deeply by her friends and “extended” family of in-laws that loved her so much and were able to spend precious time with her over the years.

Mom stayed strong to the end and always kept a positive attitude even through all her health challenges. Mom, you were so courageous and made us all so proud to be yours! We are blessed to know you are now reunited in Heaven with dad and all the others that have missed you dearly since their departure from Earth. Rest in peace, Mom, you deserve it!!

Funeral Services for Carol will be held on Thursday, September 24th at 1 pm at the Allen Memorial Home, 511-513 E. Main Street, Endicott. Burial will be in Riverhurst Cemetery, Endicott. The family will receive friends on Thursday at the Allen Memorial Home from 11 am until Service time at 1 pm.
