Carol Rice, 76, passed away at Wilson Memorial Hospital on Friday, July 31, 2026. She was born December 12, 1949 in Johnson City, NY to Stanley and Frances Michalak. Carol was a graduate of Binghamton University. She was employed by United Health Services. She loved going to yard sales, selling at the flea market, visiting her favorite casinos, and she was an avid reader.
Carol was incredibly kind and generous. She hosted an annual Easter egg hunt for 40 years, inviting family members, friends, and anyone who wanted to attend. She was the glue to family traditions, holiday cookie making, and an annual trip to her favorite place, Sylvan Beach. She will be deeply missed by her family and all who knew her.
She is predeceased by her father Stanley Michalak, mother Frances Michalak, and brother James Michalak. She is survived by her husband, James Rice; sons, Adam Rice and Toby Rice; granddaughter, Marissa Walser; siblings, Gerald Michalak (Tori Michalak), David Michalak (Billie Marie), and Nancy Stabler (Harry Stabler); as well as several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Carol was a member of Our Lady of Sorrows church in Vestal, NY.
Funeral Services will be held 11 am, Thursday, August 6, at the Allen Memorial Home, 511-513 East Main Street, Endicott. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery, Johnson City. The family will receive friends at the Allen Memorial Home, Thursday, August 6 from 10 am until service time at 11 am.
