Charlene M. Basile, 69 of Endicott, died at Lourdes Hospital on January 23rd after an extended illness. She is predeceased by her parents, Clarence and Roberta Thompson and her brother and sister in law James and Carroll Thompson. She is survived by her loving husband Victor of 48 years and their wonderful dog, Ruby. Victor cared for her and stayed by her side during her many years of failing health. Charlene also leaves behind her son, Patrick (Dawn) Basile and her beloved grandchildren, Chloe and Anthony Basile all of Endicott. She is also survived by her two brothers, Steve (Bridget) Thompson of Syracuse and Dave (Pam) Thompson of Westminster, MD, and several dear nieces and nephews. Charlene lived in Liverpool for many years before relocating to Endicott, NY in 2004 to be close to her grandchildren. While her health allowed she could be found at any game, competition or meet that involved her grandchildren. Charlene had an infectious laugh and always found the best in people no matter what. She will be greatly missed by everyone who knew her.

Calling hours will be at Allen Memorial Home 511-513 East Main Street, Endicott on Monday January 28th 4-7 pm with a funeral service at 7 pm. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Johnson City on Tuesday January 29th at 11 am. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating in Charlene’s name to the Campville Volunteer Fire Department 6153 State Route 17C, Endicott, NY 13760.
