Endicott

David Allen Fenty, 89, of Endicott, passed away peacefully on April 14, 2026. He was born on October 2, 1936, in Buffalo, to Norman Allen Fenty and Jo Nell Fenty.
David was a devoted father, husband, brother, veteran, and friend whose warmth and kindness touched everyone who knew him. A tall man in stature and spirit, many affectionately referred to him as “a giant” — not only because of his height, but because of his generous heart and gentle nature. He was truly well loved by all who met him.
David attended Hutchinson Technical High School in Buffalo, where he studied electrical engineering, beginning a lifelong interest in technology and problem-solving. He proudly served in the United States Marine Corps from July 1956 until 1960. Following his military service, he built a long and successful career as an electrical engineer with IBM, retiring in January 1999 after many years of dedicated work.
Outside of his profession, David found joy in simple pleasures and lifelong hobbies. He loved tennis and had a deep interest in coins and coin collecting, pursuits he enjoyed sharing with others throughout his life.
David was preceded in death by his daughter, Maria Lynn Fenty; his wife, Martha Eleanor Lamkin Fenty, who passed away in 2007; his wife, Jewel Richmond, who passed away in 2021; his brothers, Russell Fenty and Michael Fenty; and his parents, Jo Nell and Norman Allen Fenty.
He is survived by his son, Scott Allen Fenty; his brother, Philip Vincent Fenty; his sister-in-law, Jeanette Perno Fenty; and by Andre (Rosa) Richmond and Eugene (Harriet) Richmond, along with extended family members and many dear friends who will miss him greatly.
The family is deeply appreciative for the care, kindness, and concern shown to David by the staff of Good Shepherd Nursing Home in Endwell, New York, during his final years.
David’s family and friends will remember him for his kindness, steady presence, sense of humor, and the genuine care he showed to others throughout his life. His memory will remain a blessing to all who knew and loved him.
