David Ralph Thomas, 77, of Endicott N.Y. passed away Saturday, Oct. 26 at Wilson Hospital. He is survived by his wife of 55 years Louise and children Daniel, Dawn Curren, and Timothy and his 5 grandsons, Alex Thomas, Ben, Bram and Jack Curren in Alaska, and Timothy’s newborn son Caden. He is also survived by his niece and husband Carrie and Chris Ostrowsky. David was on the Binghamton swim team in high school and joined the USMC after graduation. After serving in Vietnam, he came home to marry Louise Bode of Deposit N.Y. and became a well know Jaguar mechanic before joining the IBM team as a machinist. In leisure time he earned black belts in 2 styles of karate, but the biggest love of his life was the outdoors, hunting, fishing, archery, and hiking, all of which he passed on to his children and grandson Alex. He won many first place medals in long range competitions all over NY and PA. Some competitors actually packed up and went home when they saw him enter. We love to get together and talk of his adventures and stories. Funeral Services for David will be held on Thursday, October 31, at 11am at the Allen Memorial Home, 511-513 East Main Street, Endicott. The family will receive friends on Thursday at the Allen Memorial Home from 10 am until Service time at 11 am.
