Diane Carol Vaughn, aged 66, of Endicott, NY passed away on April 26, 2026 in Denver, CO while seeking treatment for a terminal lung disease. Born on January 7, 1960, Diane was a cherished figure known for her strength, independence, and deep devotion to her family.
Diane spent her career as a computer programmer at IBM in Endicott, NY. A graduate of Johnson City High School and SUNY Cobleskill, she was well-educated and brought her intelligence and dedication to every facet of her life.
Beyond her professional achievements, Diane was a loving mother, an avid music enthusiast, and always watched her New York sports teams. Her life was deeply intertwined with her children's passions. She shared a special bond with her daughter Jessica, supporting her through recovery from a car accident and together enjoying sports and attending concerts. Diane was equally proud of her son Steven's musical career, particularly his involvement in drum corps, which was a significant source of joy in her life.
Diane was predeceased by her beloved husband, Ricky Lee Vaughn, in 2003, her brother Tom Eriksen, and her parents, Hans Ivar and Esther Inger Eriksen. She is survived by her daughter, Jessica Diane Vaughn of Denver, CO; son and daughter-in-law, Steven Hans Vaughn and Jessica Ann Vaughn of Denver, CO; stepdaughter, Christie Vaughn of Knoxville, TN; step-granddaughter, Danielle Vaughn of Johnson City, TN; father-in-law, Arlie Vaughn of Johnson City, TN, and siblings Anne-Marie Scialdone of New Hartford, NY, and Marion Goetz of Endicott, NY. Diane also leaves behind a loving extended family of sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, and nephews and nieces across various states and even abroad.
Calling hours will be held at Allen Memorial Home in Endicott, NY on Friday, May 8th, from 9:30-11:30AM followed by a gravesite burial at Riverhurst Cemetery.
Diane's legacy of love, resilience, and constancy to her family will be remembered by all who knew her. Despite a life touched by deep grief and hardship, Diane's spirit remained beautifully unbroken and it is that warmth, that quiet strength, that those who loved her will carry in their hearts forever.
