Douglas F. Herzig, 93, of Endwell, NY passed away peacefully on June 18, 2026 at Mercy House of the Southern Tier.
He was predeceased by his parents Reuben and Helen Herzig of Lowville, NY. He is survived by his wife Muriel, his twin brother Donald (Joan) Herzig of Florida, daughter Nancy (Martin) Peterson, son John (Irene) Herzig and daughter Susan (Brian) Balliet, grandchildren Kelly (Judd) Bensol and Kevin (Tanya) Peterson, Lisa (Ryan) Poth and Eric (Laura) Herzig, Jason (Clarinda) Balliet and Cory (Julie) Balliet and twelve great grandchildren.
Doug earned a degree in electrical engineering at Clarkson University and worked for IBM for 35 years. He then went on to form a company called U-NEEK Solutions before retiring. He was a Charter Member of Northminster Presbyterian Church and an Ordained Elder. He was also a member of the Round Hill Masonic Lodge. As a Boy Scout leader Doug was awarded the Silver Beaver award in recognition for his commitment to scouting. He enjoyed amateur radio, golfing and skiing. Her made friends wherever he went.
Funeral Services for Doug will be held on Thursday, June 25th at 11 am at Northminster Presbyterian Church, 711 Farm to Market Road, Endwell. Burial will be in Riverhurst Cemetery, Endicott. The family will receive friends on Thursday at Church from 10 am until Service time at 11 am.
