Vestal

Douglas W. Packer, 74, of Vestal, New York passed away on Sunday, March 1, 2026, at UHS Wilson hospital surrounded by his immediate family. Doug was born on November 15, 1951, to his loving parents Dale and Beverly Packer and spent his life dedicating his time to his family, work, and his biggest passion, golf.
Doug shared 39 beautiful years of marriage with his beloved wife, Judy. Their love for one another was built on loyalty, devotion, and laughter, and together they made countless cherished memories. They were, without question, soulmates, and their dedication to one another was a true testament of enduring love. In addition to his wife, Judy, Doug is survived by his mother, Beverly Packer; son Derek Packer, daughter-in-law Lori Packer, Granddaughter Hayley Packer; Brother Kenneth Packer; several sister and brother-in-law’s; nieces and nephews, and his special niece, Mallory Nanni; his dog Tucker, aka TTF.
Doug was predeceased by his father Dale Packer, sister-in-law Kerry Lorimer Packer, and brother-in-law Robert Kveragas.
Doug attended Johnson City High School and furthered his education at State University of New York at Delhi. He worked as an Allstate Agent. During his time away from work, you could find Doug on the golf course, spending time with his friends and family, watching his favorite sports teams. But Doug’s greatest joy in life was being a father and grandfather. He enjoyed cruising to the islands, boating in Canada and the 1000 islands
visiting Sarasota with his family to visit his mother, tanning on the beach, and margaritas on the rocks with salt.
We would like to thank the many doctors and healthcare workers at UHS Wilson for their loving care these past years.
Per Doug’s request services will be private.
