Douglas (Doug) Sterns, 63 of Endicott, NY, unexpectedly passed away in a car accident in Naples, Florida on August 5, 2026. Doug was predeceased by his infant son, Alex; parents, James and Lucille Sterns; beloved in laws, Rosario and Rosa Fiori; brother-in-law, Rob George; sister-in-law, Karen Fiori; nephew, Christopher Moleski and best friends Barry Depersis Sr. and Graziella Malizia. Doug is survived by his beloved and devoted wife of 41 years, Tina; daughters, Natalie (Becca) and Emily; grandcats, Javier and Jack; siblings, Christine Moleski, David (Michelle) Sterns, Jackie George; brothers in law, John Fiori (Madi), Angelo Fiori, and Dominick Fiori. He is also survived by multiple godchildren, nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, family friends who all lovingly called him Uncle Doug, plus comare, Christine and Tom Pasquale, and Nance Carney.
Doug was born and raised in Endicott. He graduated from Union Endicott High School in 1981 and went to trade school following that. Doug alongside his best friend Barry Depersis Sr. owned and operated Hi-Tech Industries until the mid- 2000s. Later in life, he discovered a newfound passion and trained as a home inspector and moved to Florida in the summer of 2022.
Doug was an avid lover of the outdoors- hunting, fishing and golfing were his passions and he made sure to find a way to be outside no matter the season. Doug was a devoted husband and father, attending all of the girls' functions growing up and continued to support their endeavors as they grew up.
Doug was a member of St. Anthony of Padua Church in Endicott and the Independent Mutual Aid.
A Funeral Mass for Doug will be held on Monday, August 17th, 2026 at 10 am at St. Anthony of Padua Church, 300 Odell Ave, Endicott. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Johnson City. The family will receive friends on Sunday, August 16th from 1-4 pm at the Allen Memorial Home, 511-513 E. Main Street, Endicott.
