d. May 1, 2017

Dr. Geoffrey T. Burnham, 69 of Endicott, passed away unexpectedly on May 1, 2017. Geoffrey is predeceased by his parents, Eleanor and Robert; his brothers Kevin and Bob. He is survived by the love of his life and soulmate of over 30 years, his beloved wife, Susan; twin daughters Nicole Soltis (Michael) and Kelly Nunn (Scott) both of Endicott whom he cherished and adored; Stepson, Ryan Carney (Shonda) whom he considered his own, Grandchildren, Ryshon, Rami and Brooklyn, his Mother and Father in Law, Gladys and Charles Miller whom he loved as his own parents. Brother in Law, Gregory Miller (Lori) and nieces, Jessica (Michael), Caitlin and Savannah. Geoff graduated Valedictorian from St. John’s Preparatory School. From there he furthered his education at Manhattan College and also enlisted in the United States Air Force and then received his Ph.D. in Physics from New York University. He was the most brilliant man we knew. He was an Entrepreneur. Geoff started the Laser Department at GE and founded, Semiconductor Laser International which became a Publicly Traded Company. He spent the last twelve years of his professional career as the Senior Executive Vice President of Government Contracts at Agiltron, Inc., Woburn, MA. While he was working at Agiltron he came home almost every weekend to be with his family that he loved so dearly. He drove sometimes almost 6 hours one way to be home for just one day to see his family he adored. He looked forward to the summers playing golf with his twins and opening his pool and spending weekends in the sun with his family and friends with a Fedora hat, shades on and a martini in hand. As his kids were growing up, he would have been found on the soccer field coaching his daughters and their friends as well as cheering them on throughout their collegiate athletic career. He was cherished by so many people who loved spending time with him and saw him as a father figure. He was always seen with a big smile on his face. He was so proud of his family and his amazing generosity to all that knew him will never be forgotten. He was fortunate to have known his granddaughter Brooklyn who was the light of his life. The smile she had on her face every time she saw him will be treasured forever. The memories we have of him are too many to count but we will never ever forget them. Thank you for being the best and most loving person we knew. Special thanks to his physician Dr. John Perry; Talia Simonds who was a very special family friend and Agiltron, Inc.
