Edmund Glenn Benjamin Sr, 91, of Endicott, NY passed away Friday, November 21, 2025.
Ed is survived by his loving wife Charlotte Benjamin; his children Diane Rome (Andy), Edmund G. Benjamin Jr (Gina), Harold Benjamin (Rebecca), Joe Evanco (Rose), Don Evanco (Mindy), Julie Jones (Erik); 19 grandchildren; 40 great grandchildren; several great great grandchildren; his brother Clinton Benjamin (Mary); brother-in-law Denny Dyer (Joann) and numerous extended family members.
Ed is predeceased by his parents Clinton Benjamin and Madge Vargason Kishpaugh and his siblings Richard Benjamin, Raymond George Benjamin, Joyce Gyles, Wallace Benjamin, Joann Dyer, and Theresa Smith.
Ed was in the Navy on the USS Albany 123; retired head baker from Lockheed Martin Owego NY; former head baker at Elk’s Bake Shop Endicott NY; member of the Owego VFW #1371, and a Director of the Cayuta Lake Association in Catherine NY.
Ed was proud to have served his country in the US Navy, and attended most of the reunions yearly with his wife. He had many skills; a handyman that could fix anything thanks to his clever and innovative mind. Ed had an incredible gift of baking; he made so many delicious baked goods that people still crave many years later. Ed had strong family values; he was a devoted father and husband. He was extremely proud of his children and grandchildren and would brag about them to all that would listen. Anyone that knew Ed could appreciate his quick wit and sarcastic humor. He loved being surrounded by family, friends and laughter. He cherished his time at the lake. Ed lived a very full life and he was thankful for all he had accomplished.
Funeral services will be held 11 am, Saturday, November 29 at the Allen Memorial Home, 511–5 13 East Main Street, Endicott. Burial will be Vestal Hills Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the Allen Memorial Home, Friday, November 28 from 4-6 pm, and Saturday, November 29 from 10 am until service time at 11 am.
In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made to the Campville Fire Department, please mail a check to 6153 State Route 17C, Endicott, NY 13760 and note “In memory of Edmund Benjamin”. Their emergency services staff is amazing and we cannot thank them enough.
