Ellen C. Titus

Ellen Cady Titus, 82 of Vestal passed away on September 4th, 2026 surrounded by family. She left behind a lifetime of love, cherished memories, and a family who will miss her dearly. She was a loving wife, mother, aunt, cousin, grandmother and great-grandmother.

Ellen was born at Wilson Memorial Hospital, a place that held a special significance throughout her life. It was through UHS that she made her career, met her husband David, and eventually gained her wings through the wonderful care and community of peoples lives that she touched.

She was an amazing cook, baked her own bread, and enjoyed working on puzzles, sharing laughter and good times with those around her. She crocheted blankets, scarves and hats for her family and friends, and always finding thoughtful ways to show how much she cared.

One of Ellen’s greatest joys was supporting her family, especially her grandsons at their football games. She loved being there and watching her son, Duane, coach. She was a devoted fan, and you could count on seeing her wearing her blue and gold with pride.

Ellen had a genuine love for people and treasured the many friendships she made throughout her years. She was a member of Seventh-Day Adventist Church and helped run the caring closet for numerous years. Ellen also was a part of the Vestal Senior Center, where she enjoyed the many friendships she found there, especially while playing cards.

She had a love for flowers, especially tulips and lilacs. Their beauty reflected the warmth and joy she brought into the lives of those who knew her.

Ellen is predeceased by her beloved daughter, Deborah, as well as her brothers Duane and Harvey Cady, and her half brother Keith Allen.

Ellen is survived by her husband, David Titus; her children, Michelle and Duane (Christine); her grandchildren, Renee, Brayden, and Evan; and her great-grandchild, Jaxson. She is survived by her half sister Patti Hughes and half brother Leslie Hope as well as many loving cousins, nieces, nephews, grandnieces, and grandnephews.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to UHS CACU , Main Tower 6, North Tower 2 and Main Tower 5 for their exceptional care, compassion and support.

Most of all, Ellen will be remembered for her infectious smile and the countless ways she made those around her feel loved. Her memory will live on in the hearts of all who were fortunate to know and love her.

Funeral Services for Ellen will be held on Sunday, September 13th at 1 pm at the Allen Memorial Home, 511-513 E. Main Street, Endicott. The family will receive friends on Sunday at the Allen Memorial Home from 11 am until Service time at 1 pm.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the UHS Foundation in honor of Ellen.
