Eugene “Gene” Ash

Eugene H. (Gene) Ash, 91 of Endwell died peacefully at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital Friday, December 18, 2015. He is predeceased by his parents, George and Grace Ash. He is survived by his wife and best friend of 68 years, Phyllis (Tedeschi) Ash; a brother and sister-in-law Charles and Betty Ash; a sister and brother-in-law Joyce and Harry Gray, Pennsylvania; sister-in-law, Lucille Rossi, Florida; also several nieces, nephews, grand nieces and nephews, and many godchildren. Gene was an active member of St. Anthony of Padua Church, Endicott, where he served as a Eucharistic Minister and was a member of the Holy Name Society. He was a retired IBM Corp. employee and member of its Quarter Century Club. Gene was a veteran of W.W. II and member of the Alhambra Sidonna Caravan #212. He graduated from Benton High School, Benton, PA, Class of ’42, attended the Marine Electrical School in Virginia, worked in a shipyard in Florida, and graduated from Ridley Lowell Business School before starting his career with IBM. Gene was also an avid golfer, bowler, fly fisherman, sports fan, and great athlete, playing many sports.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated Monday 11:30 am at St. Anthony of Padua Church, 306 Odell Avenue, Endicott. Entombment will be in Vestal Hills Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends at church Monday from 10:30 am until Mass time at 11:30 am.
