d. January 8, 2019

On Tuesday, January 8th Gordon N. Glover 87 peacefully passed on from this world and into the arms of his Lord and Savior. He is predeceased by his brothers Lynn Glover and Albert Douglas Glover, and his sister Barbara Ann Sheldon. He is survived by his loving wife of 63 years Donna Glover, his son Martin (Laura) Glover, his daughter Pamela (Jon) Black, and his son Raymond (Michelle) Glover. He is also survived by his grandchildren Matthew (Chrystine) Black, Amanda (Casey) Pullano, Bradly Glover, Brittney Glover (Joshua), and his great grandchildren Lily, Aubrey and Ruby. He is also survived by his siblings Roger (Barbara) and Marilyn (David). Gordon grew up in a little town in Pennsylvania, Starrucca and graduated from Thompson High School at the top ten of his 9 classmates. Gordon joined the Air Force right out of high school serving during the Korean War. He served for four years as a radio operator on the B36 Superfortress. Gordon was also a HAMM radio operator obtaining his license and would spend hours communicating with friends in Morse code. After serving Gordon was hired by IBM Endicott in 1955. He worked for IBM for 32 years as a customer engineer on main frame computers both domestically and internationally including a two-year assignment in Germany. Gordon was an active member of the Union Center United Methodist Church since 1955 serving as a Sunday school teacher and on the trustees. Gordon just loved tinkering, working on tractors, snowmobiles, and fixing old cars. Anything broken he would repair and it would end up working better than it had before. He was very creative with his many projects he worked on in his home workshop. In 1961 him and his wife purchased land in the thousand islands where they built their dream vacation home and had many wonderful, happy, fun years with family and friends. Gordon enjoyed being with people and considered the needs of others before his own. He always had a smile on his face and was always ready with a quick witted remark. Gordon will be greatly missed by his family, friends and all who knew and loved him.
The family will receive friends Saturday at 10:00 at the Union Center United Methodist Church 128 Maple Drive, Endicott NY.
