Irene M. Bucinell

Irene M. Bucinell, 84, went to be with our Lord on Friday, January 11, 2013. She was predeceased by her beloved husband of 54 years, Felix J. Bucinell; her parents, Joseph and Elizabeth Novak; sister, Josephine Bykonich; parents in-law, Felix J and Alice Bucinell; and brothers-in- law, Robert Drum, John Bykonich, Joseph Juracek and Thomas Bucinell. She is survived by her children, Linda Quackenbush, Patricia (Frank) Gaull, Felix Bucinell, Ronald (Jill) Bucinell and Richard (Emily) Bucinell; six grandchildren, Christian Quackenbush, Kara (Alex) Rahn, Jared Quackenbush, Bradley Chellis, Ryan Bucinell and Benjamin Bucinell; and four great-grandchildren, Sophia Rahn, Saaya Quackenbush, Joseph Rahn, and Asha Quackenbush; her sisters, Elizabeth (Bill) Kucharek and Agnes (Mario) Fabrizio; and sisters- in-law, Bonnie Drum, Ronnie Juracek and Jean Bucinell as well as several nieces and nephews. Irene was a founding member of Christ the King Church, Endwell and was a member of Church of the Holy Family, Endwell. She was an active member of the Church of the Holy Family Welcoming Committee and the Prayer Shawl Ministry, as well as the Ladies Guild. She was also an active member of the Ladies of Columbus, Johnson City Chapter where she held many positions including coordinating the funeral luncheon committee and working bingo for many years. Irene loved playing golf and spending Tuesday afternoons with the girls. Her greatest joy in life was spending time with her family. Funeral Services be held Tuesday at 9:30 am from the Allen Memorial Home, 511-513 East Main Street, Endicott, followed by a Funeral Mass at Church of the Holy Family at 10 am. The family will receive friends at the Allen Memorial Home Monday from 5-8 pm. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy in Irene’s memory may be made to Church of the Holy Family, 3600 Phyllis Street, Endwell, NY 13760.
