James “Jamie” Nolan Schuerch, 45, of Vestal, NY passed away unexpectedly yet peacefully on the morning of Sunday, February 8, 2026.
Jamie was a man known for his generous spirit and unmistakably big heart. He had a deep love for sports, especially golf and hockey. Golf was more than a game to him—it was a way to bring people together. He found great enjoyment in teaching others, patiently sharing his knowledge and encouraging everyone from beginners to seasoned players. Whether on the golf course or the hockey rink, his enthusiasm and kindness left a lasting mark on those around him. In the summer months he took great pleasure in entertaining and being 1st Mate on the family’s boat Sea Echo, on Cayuga Lake.
Above all, Jamie’s greatest passion was his family. He cherished time spent together and shared his love wholeheartedly. He held a special place in his heart for his godchildren, loving them deeply and taking great pride in being part of their lives. He also treasured the time he spent with his uncles, aunts, cousins, and friends creating lifelong memories filled with laughter and connection.
Jamie was preceded in death by his father, Robert Paul Schuerch.
He is survived by his beloved longtime partner, Meg Jenkins, whom he cherished deeply; his loving mother, Patricia Schuerch; his brothers, Rob Schuerch (Joy Westby) and Brian Schuerch; along with his cherished godchildren, cousins, extended family members, and many dear friends.
A Celebration of Life will be held in Spring 2026, with details to be shared later.
Jamie will be deeply missed and forever remembered for his compassion, his laughter, and the love he so freely gave.
