Jean Magee

Jean Ann Foy Magee, age 81, of Endicott, NY, died May 12, 2016 in the comfort of her home surrounded by family. She was born January 14, 1935 in Binghamton, NY and was predeceased by her parents, Martin P. Foy and Mary M. Foy; her brother, William J. Foy. She is survived by her husband, Francis X. Magee; her three children, Martin, Michael E. (Cathy) and Patrick (Ted Davenport); her grandchildren, Michael F. and Danielle; her great-grandchildren, Skylar and Lilah and by many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She married her high school sweetheart, Francis X. Magee on January 8th, 1955 and have celebrated their life together for over 65 years. Among her many life accomplishments, interests, and love included being secretary for the Corner Drug Store & founder of the Corner Drug Store’s Gift Shop, head of the Enjoie Women’s Golf Association, volunteered as head of the BC Open Walking Scorers for many years, enjoyed playing golf with her family, friends, and won several women’s achievement awards. In her later years of life, she braved several medical problems including a courageous battle with both Alzheimer’s and renal disease. God blessed her, not once, but twice, with kidney donors to allow her to continue gracing her family and friends with her presence of love and laughter. The family would like to thank the staff and aides of Lourdes Hospice for their compassionate care.

Calling hours will be held at Our Lady of Good Counsel Church, 701 West Main Street, Endicott, on Monday from 9:30am to 10:30am and Mass will immediately follow. Afterwards we will proceed to her final resting place at Riverhurst Cemetery, 2500 East Main Street, Endwell.
