John Minoia

John M. Minoia of Vestal, New York passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Tuesday, December 4th, 2018. John was well known in the building trades, always eager to share his knowledge and skills with everyone. He is survived by his beloved wife of 63 years, Alice, and his six children, three daughters and their families Dr. Julia Minoia and the late Dr. Clive Jones; Alice Sergi, Thomas, Jackie and Brian, and Michael; Annette and Bill Gibson, Bill and Mallory, and Genevieve and Nathan; three sons and their families John Jr. and Leslie, Adrienne and Tom Magier, and John III; David and Cynthia, Danielle, Angelica, Marinna, and Lucianna; Christopher and Melanie, Gina, and Laura; great-grandchildren Kaiyir, Shane, Joey, and baby Clayton; numerous nieces and nephews; two sisters Nicolene English and Marie Minoia; sister-in-law Cathy Minoia; and his little cat Jade. He was predeceased by parents Peter and Clorinda Minoia; brothers William, Nicholas, Gerard; and sisters May, Jean, and Theresa. John was a true family man who enjoyed with Alice their big family gatherings and sharing their love and expertise of antiques with others. John was known to all as a kind and giving man.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated Monday 12 pm at Our Lady of Good Counsel Church, 701 West Main Street, Endicott. The family will receive friends at church Monday from 10 am until Mass time at 12 pm. The family wishes to thank the home Hospice team for their compassionate support. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Food Bank of the Southern Tier.
