Joseph S. Graytock

Endicott

Joseph S. Graytock, 80, of Endicott, NY, passed away peacefully on May 22, 2025, at Ideal Skilled Nursing Center. The family extends their deepest gratitude to the staff at Ideal for the care they provided to Joseph in his final days.
Born on May 2, 1945, in Forest City, Pennsylvania, Joseph was the son of the late Joseph S. and Josephine (Morosky) Graytock. He graduated from Forest City High School and went on to serve in the United States Navy, where he spent four years proudly and honorably serving his country.
After his time in the Navy, Joseph married his love, Joanie. Moving to New York, he built a career with IBM while attending Dutchess County Community College. After retirement from IBM, he worked a variety of other jobs over the years. No matter the role, he was known for his strong work ethic and steady commitment to his family.
Joseph was a man who found joy in life’s simple and meaningful moments. He loved to sing and had a special appreciation for the outdoors—especially hiking and tending to his vegetable garden. He was deeply spiritual and devoted much of his time to reading the Bible and filling spiral notebooks with his reflections and insights. Joseph will be remembered as a loving husband, a supportive father, and a proud grandfather and great-grandfather.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 57 years, Joan, his daughters Paulette Weston (husband Joe) and Janice Langston (husband Joe), grandchildren Jed, Jay-Ar, Aidan, Ethan, and Josiah, and great-granddaughter Za'Miah. He is also survived by his brother Francis Graytock (wife Sharon) and sister Mary Alice Remus (husband Joseph).
He was preceded in death by his son, Jeffrey Graytock, and his sisters Rosemarie Bintliff, Caye Von Ahnen, and Lucy Smith.
A visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 27, 2025, at Our Lady of Good Counsel, 701 W Main Street, Endicott, NY, beginning at 9:30 AM, followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:30 AM. Burial will directly follow at Saint Joseph’s Cemetery, Susquehanna Street, Forest City, PA.
Joseph’s legacy of faith, kindness, and love for family will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
