Joseph Leszewski

Joseph A. Laszewski, of Endicott, NY, 94, passed away peacefully on the evening of Sunday, October 7th at the Mercy House of the Southern Tier. Joseph graduated from Union-Endicott High School and then entered the United States Army. Joseph was a World War II Veteran and also served in the Army Reserves where he was a member of the 1st Army National Rifle Team. While being a member of the Reserves and the Rifle Team he worked at IBM and retired after 44 years. Joseph was also a very active member in the American Legion for over 60 years with Post 82 in Endicott. Joseph was preceded in death by his parents Casmir and Julia Laszewski, his loving wife Laurilla Laszewski, brothers George, Stanley, Lewis, Thomas, Leo, Harold, Raymond, and Francis, sisters Esther and Helen, his daughter Kathie Buchak, and step-daughter Carole Bailey. He is survived by his son Joseph M. Laszewski, son in-law Michael Buchak, grandson David Buchak and his wife Amanda Buchak, step-grandson Tim Weslar and his wife Kim Weslar (Port Orange, Florida), step-granddaughter Kelly Hurst (Ormands, Florida), great grandchildren Drew and Adriana Buchak, great-grandchild Logan Weslar, and great-grandchild Zachary Hurst. Joseph’s family would like to thank all of the care providers at Wilson Hospital, Hospice, and the Mercy House of the Southern Tier for their help and support. The family will receive friends at the Allen Memorial Home, 511-513 East Main Street, Endicott, Thursday from 10 to 11 am, followed by graveside services at Riverside Cemetery, Endicott at 11:15 am. lieu of flowers, the family would like to you consider making a donation to the Mercy House of the Southern Tier, 212 North McKinley Avenue, Endicott, NY 13760 in Joseph’s name.
