Karen Lynn Marthens

Karen Lynn Marthens, 69, of Endicott, NY, passed away peacefully in the early morning hours of Sunday, September 27, 2026.

Karen was born and raised in Maine, New York. This November, she and her husband, Thomas ("Todd") Marthens, would have celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary. Together they built a life as a proud Coast Guard family, spending 22 years traveling up and down the East Coast with their children in tow.

Karen was predeceased by her parents, Leigh and Muriel Pitcher; her sister, Kathie Genung; and her brother, David Pitcher.

She is survived by her husband, Thomas "Todd" Marthens; her son, Joshua Marthens (Sue Zipay); and her daughter, Dulcie Malizia (Marc). She is also survived by her sisters, Bonnie (Don) Hrusecky and Diane (Mark) Mikalonis, along with many loving nieces and nephews. Karen's greatest pride and joy were her grandchildren, Rori and Graziano Malizia, who brought immeasurable light to her life.

Karen will be remembered for her strength, her devotion to her family, and the deep love she shared with her husband through nearly five decades of marriage and a lifetime of adventures together.

There will be no services, however the family will receive friends on Wednesday, October 7 from 4-6 pm at the Allen Memorial Home, 511-513 E. Main Street, Endicott.

Her family would like to thank the staff at Absolute Care Center for all their work and care these last two years.
