Ken, age 86, passed away peacefully on 09 September 2025 after a long battle with cancer.
He was a proud veteran of the United States Marine Corps where he served as an Aircraft Armament Control Technician at MCAS Iwakuni, Japan and Beaufort, SC. He was Honorably discharged as a Corporal after 4 years active and 2 years reserve duty.
Ken retired from IBM Corporation after 30 years of service in various positions including as a member of the team development of IBM’s first laptop computer known as the ThinkPad.
Post retirement, he was employed by the Airstream Company as a Service Technician on their Company Caravans to Alaska, Canada, and Mexico.
He also worked for a short time at Southern Tier Harley Davidson and at McLain’s Gun Shop.
Ken had a keen interest in history and government and served on the Town of Maine Zoning Board of Appeals. He was also a member and volunteer of the Nanticoke Valley Historical Society.
He was also a Life Member of the Airstream Club International (BRN 100); Escapees RV Club; The American Legion Post 1390; Elks Lodge 2508; and Grace Lutheran Church.
Ken is survived by his wife of nearly 63 years, Marla; their daughter Tara Brady, and granddaughter, Charlotte Brady. Also, by his sister, Vivian (Neil) Nickelsen and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was predeceased by his parents, George and Shirley Brady and his daughter, Lauren Brady.
The family thanks the staff of Compassus, especially Heather, Jennifer and Tony for their care, kindness and professionalism during Ken’s long time with hospice.
