Kenneth Potter

Kenneth C. Potter, 75, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family December 6, 2018. Kenneth was predeceased by his parents, Marvin and Elizabeth (Lil) Potter; brothers, Eugene, Richard, Warren and sister Jeanette Lott; aunt, Ester and countless friends. Kenneth is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Kathy; his children, David (Holly),Chris (Bunny), and Michelle(Doug) Griffis; 12 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren, 2 sister-in-laws, Faye and Carolyn; several nieces, nephews and cousins. Kenneth held various jobs throughout his life as a salesman with different companies. His most rewarding pursuit was being an integral part of launching the Vestal Elks lodge #2508 with his brother Richard, where both of them were lifetime members. This is where he spent the last 20 years of his life working as the club manager. He made a lot of special friends throughout this time, and probably a couple enemies until they understood his dry sense of humor. Kenneth was a loving husband, father, grandfather great-grandfather, avid hunter and a mentor to many he met throughout his life’s journey. The family would like to thank the staff at Broome Oncology, Wilson Hospital and Bridgewater Nursing and Rehabilitation for their care of Kenneth during his illness. Per Kenneth’s request there will be no funeral services.
A Lodge of Sorrow Service will be conducted at 1:00 PM on December 29 at the Vestal Elks Lodge #2508, 2071 Vestal Parkway West, followed by a celebration of life. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Vestal Elks lodge #2508 “so we can pay our electric bill”.
