Laura Solan

Laura Jeannette (King) Solan of Endwell, 85, passed away peacefully on October 22, 2013, at home, after a brief illness. She was predeceased by her parents Harry and Laura (Marsh) King, brothers Harry, William and John King, and sister-in-law Winifred (Harry) King. She is survived by her loving husband of 59 years, John Solan Jr., son and daughter-in-law John and Denise (Baer) Solan, daughter and son-in-law Colleen Solan and Randall Ottman, grandchildren Chelsea Solan, Chloe Solan, Emily Ottman and Andrew Ottman, and sister-in-law Margaret (John) King, and nephews Michael, Christopher and Anthony King, and many cousins. She was a graduate of Binghamton North High School, Wilson School of Nursing, and Harpur College. She worked for many years at Wilson Hospital as a RN, Social Worker and Volunteer. After her retirement, she held several other volunteer positions in the community.
She loved to swim, play the piano, read, watch movies, and listen to music, and most of all, spend time with her four wonderful grandchildren.
She was a member of the Church of the Holy Family, 3600 Phyllis Street, Endwell, NY.A Memorial Mass will be held at Church of the Holy Family on November 2, 2013 at ten o’clock.
Lunch will follow in the church hall. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Laura’s name to the CHOW food program, Binghamton, NY.
