Lucille D Brown, 83, of Binghamton, NY passed away peacefully on June 7, 2025 with her loved ones by her side.
Lucy was preceded in death by the love of her life Ross Saddlemire, her son James Brown and mother Elsie Bradley. Lucy is survived by her step daughter Sheri Saddlemire, Sheri’s partner Susan Wilson and her best friend Carol Smith all of whom will never forget the love she brought to their lives. She also leaves her feathered friend Korky, who brought her great joy.
Lucy was born in Carbondale, PA. in 1941. After her formal schooling she went to work at Endicott Johnson shoe factory and worked there for several years. Lucy went on to work for the Binghamton school district and finally Broome Developmental Center where she worked until she retired.
Lucy was a devoted mother to her only child James Brown her pride and joy. She always said that his birth changed her life for the better, and he felt that in the love and support she provided. Lucy leaves behind many wonderful friends. Several she would meet for a meal or just a cup of coffee at Danny’s diner in Binghamton. Lucy always gave of herself to those around her. She volunteered at Elizabeth Church Manor for many years . She loved bowling and was on many teams around the triple cities. She loved to play the slots at Tioga Downs. She even traveled to Atlantic City with friends enjoying the slots there as well.
When Lucy was not out giving of herself you could find her at home putting together puzzles or playing solitaire on her phone. A lover of pro football you could find her watching and rooting for her favorite teams. Lucy loved camping and fishing with the love of her life Ross Saddlemire. Lucy’s family would like to thank the amazing staff at Wilson Hospital especially Dr Preet Kahai who gave tirelessly of himself to make sure she was comfortable.
A celebration of life will be held at 11am on Thursday, June 19 at Vestal Hills Memorial Park Cemetery.
