Marcia E. Stewart (Hall), 71, of Johnson City, NY, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, July 27, 2025 after a decade of health struggles.
She is predeceased by her parents, Bernard and Greta Hall (Hickey).
She is survived by her children, Clifford Jr. (Cathleen), Chad and Shannon, the loves of her life, her three grandsons, Oliver, Nicholas and Thomas Stewart, and her brother, Michael Hall. She also leaves behind countless cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
A graduate of Vestal High School, Marcia was a dedicated RN at UHS for 44 years, working at both Wilson and General hospitals, before being forced into a medical retirement after being diagnosed with cancer in 2016.
Marcia was a huge sports fan and loved both the New York Yankees and Philadelphia Eagles. Her favorite sports teams, however, were those her children and grandchildren played on, rarely ever missing a game.
Marcia enjoyed spending time with her friends and large extended family, organizing monthly lunches, weekend trips and shopping days. She spent many wonderful summers at Lake Timberline, where she enjoyed the fresh air and being able to disconnect from the busy hustle and bustle of life.
The family would like to express their gratitude for the exceptional medical care Marcia received from Dr. Kimberly DeSantis and her nurse, Sarah, at Endwell Family Physicians, Dr. Ronald Harris and his staff at Broome Oncology, and Roswell Park Cancer Center.
A Funeral Mass for Marcia will be held on Tuesday, August 12th at 12pm at St. James Church, 147 Main Street, Johnson City. Burial will be in Vestal Park Cemetery, Vestal. The family will receive friends on Tuesday the 12th at Church from 10-11:50am. A Nurse Honor Guard Prayer Service will be held at 11:50 am before Mass at 12 pm.
Expressions of sympathy in Marcia’s memory may be made to Mercy House of the Southern Tier, 212 N. McKinley Ave, Endicott, NY 13760.
