Margaret Maria Milkovich died Sunday August 26 2018. She was born February 16th 1930 in Kempen Germany to parents Johannes Theodor Klanten and Katharina Paula Klanten (Trecker). She was the sister of Joseph Klanten and aunt to Wolfgang, Christoph, Heidi (Buckenhüskes), and Georg Klanten. She graduated from nursing school in Krefeld Germany and worked throughout her life in the service of others as a nurse and social worker. Margaret is survived by her former husband, Michael Milkovich, who together raised four sons. Anthony (Nancy), Michael, Christopher (Christy), and David (Lisa). Margaret loved gardening, swimming, knitting for friends and family, and spending time with friends – but her greatest love was time spent with her grandchildren Joseph, Victoria (Tori), Michael, Jonathan, Jack, and Emmaline. She also loved chocolate. Her family would like to thank the staff of the United Methodist Homes - Hilltop Star Unit who often went above and beyond to help ease her through her last phase of life with dignity. As a medical social worker she would remind us of her “short list” of organizations she trusted should she ever need nursing care. We understand now why Hilltop was on that list.
The Family will receive friends at the Allen Memorial Home, 511-513 East Main Street, Endicott Saturday from 11 am to 1 pm, followed by graveside services at Vestal Hills Memorial Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to your local YMCA supporting activities for children.
