Vestal

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved sister, Marie Helen Crewdson, 93, of Vestal, NY, who passed away peacefully on 21 October 2026, surrounded by the love of her family. She is preceded in death by her husband, E. Donald Crewdson.
She was born Marie H. Edwardsen on 30 July 1933 to Kenneth G. Edwardsen, Sr., and Marie Wilhemena (Widmaier) Edwardsen, in Teaneck, NJ. In her adult years, Marie very much enjoyed life in Vermont, eventually relocating to Vestal with Don in 1984.
No matter what life placed before her, Marie lived a life defined by love, loyalty, and kindness. She was known for her strength and determination. Any of life’s challenges were faced with grace and courage. She taught those around her the importance of staying strong while still leading with compassion.
Though Marie enjoyed extensive world travel with her husband Don, she also found joy in simple things: flowers blooming, birds singing, family dinners, holidays together, and quiet moments spent talking for hours and reminiscing. She taught us that the strongest relationships are built through time, trust, and love.
Marie is survived by her sister Carole Ann Frick, brother Kenneth G. Edwardsen, Jr., daughter Susan Clawson (Kerry), and stepchildren Edward Crewdson (Leanne), Phyllis Donohue (Brian), and David Crewdson (Mary Jo). Marie leaves behind eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren, as well as several nieces and nephews, and neighbors/friends who will carry her love with them always.
Though she is gone from our sight, Marie remains part of every family gathering, every shared joke and every act of kindness inspired by her example.
A Funeral Service will be held for Marie on Saturday, November 7th at 3pm at the Allen Memorial Home, 511-513 E. Main Street, Endicott. The family will receive friends on Saturday at the Allen Memorial Home from 1pm until service time at 3pm.
