Mark E. Selby, 54, of Binghamton, NY passed away on Tuesday, July 14, 2026 at UHS Wilson Hospital.

Mark was born in Binghamton, NY on February 3, 1972 to Richard “Dick” and Carol Selby. He is survived by his wife of 27 years, Colleen (Murphy); son Anderson; mother Carol; step-mother Angela Koutsaris; brother Douglas and his wife Larissa; sister-in-law Jeanie Selby Ainslie, mother-in-law Marlene Murphy; brother-in-law Patrick Murphy and his husband John Simmons; brother-in-law Chad Lamphere and his wife Susan; nieces and nephew Pamella, Elizabeth, Emma and Madeline Selby, Chelsea and Jack Lamphere, Cora and Bríd Murphy-Simmons. He is predeceased by his father Richard; brother Todd; father-in-law Brian Murphy; sister-in-law Kelly Murphy Lamphere; and uncle Robert.

Mark graduated from Johnson City (NY) HS in 1990, SUNY Broome Community College 1992 and SUNY Polytechnic Institute 1994 as a mechanical engineer. He worked at Bush Industries (Jamestown), IBM, Huron Real Estate (Endicott) and JLL.

Mark was a loving, thoughtful spouse and father with a kind heart who was always willing to help others. He was a lifelong skier who loved teaching others to ski. One of his greatest joys was teaching and skiing with his son Anderson. He enjoyed hiking, photographing various waterfalls, and always looked forward to the family’s yearly trip to Maine. He loved listening to music and going to concerts, especially the Allman Brothers, Eric Clapton and Phish. In addition to his love for music, he was a lifelong Chicago Cubs fan and had a great interest in classic cars, especially Mustangs.

In lieu of flowers, those wishing to tribute in memory of Mark may make contributions to Broome County Habitat for Humanity (online at broomehabitat.org, or by mail at 103 Adams Ave, Endicott, NY 13760). There will be a family celebration of life at a later date.
