Martin “Marty” Vasick

Martin T. Vasick , 71, of Maine, NY died peacefully at home Tuesday, January 29, 2019 following a long and courageous battle with cancer. He is predeceased by his parents, Martin and Anna Vasick; his in-laws, Charles and Margaret Svoboda and his loyal golden retriever Kasey. Marty is survived by his wife, Patricia (Svoboda); son, Stephen, Syracuse, NY; daughter, Heather Spencer (Brett Little), Syracuse, NY; sister, Sue Vasick of Ohio; and his beloved grandchildren, Emma Deehan, Aidan Little and Evan Little, Syracuse, NY, and many nieces and nephews. He also leaves behind four brother-in-laws who were truly brothers, Chuck (Barbara), Bob, Bill (Karyn) and John (Linda) Svoboda. Marty was an electrician by trade who turned his masterful skills as an electrician into a respected career at IBM from which he retired with over 25 years of service. In his “retirement” he worked for Atlantic Inland as an electrical inspector. He was an avid outdoorsman with a passion for hunting and fishing and a deep love for his hunting camp. He was a past president and lifetime member of Mountain Trail Bowhunters as well as numerous other organizations and was a member of Our Saviour Lutheran Church in Endwell.
Funeral Services will be held on Monday 12 pm at Our Saviour Lutheran Church, 731 Hooper Road, Endwell. The family will receive friends at church Monday from 10 am until service time at 12 pm. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to Our Saviour Lutheran Church.
