Mary Lucille Bridge

Mary L. (Flederbach) Bridge, 90, of Endwell, NY, passed away on September 17, 2026.

She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Lawrence, with whom she shared 21 years of marriage until his passing in November 1979. She was also predeceased by her parents, Edward and Antionetta Flederbach of Johnson City, NY. Her three brothers — Bernard (Pat) of Talbott, TN; Frederick (Rose) of Vestal, NY; and Robert (Phyllis) Flederbach of Holly Springs, NC — as well as her sister, Madeline (George) Hoeflein of Endicott, and two nieces, Baby Carol of Vestal, NY, and Catherine of Talbott, TN.

Mary is survived by her children: James (Stacie) Bridge of Flat Rock, NC; Patricia Carlisle of Horseheads, NY; Lawrence Bridge of Rochester, NY; and David (Ann) Bridge of Bluffton, SC. She is also survived by her grandchildren, who brought immeasurable love and joy into her life: Elizabeth (Cory), Shelby (Davionne, finance), Ryan (Jade, finance), Corinne, Matthew, Kevin (Melissa), Danny (Krista), and Charlie. Her legacy continues through her great grandchildren — April, Meleya, and Charlotte — as well as many nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews, including her very special niece, Lynn.

Mary will be remembered for her boundless generosity, her deep faith, and her remarkable ability to make every holiday feel magical. She went above and beyond to make celebrations extra special for everyone, creating memories that her family will cherish forever. Her kindness, warmth, and devotion to others leave a lasting imprint on all who knew her.

Mary’s greatest joy in life was her family, especially her grandchildren, who were truly everything to her. She never missed a chance to be part of their world — always ready to jump in the car at a moment’s notice, no matter the distance or the hour, just to show up for them. Whether it was a school event, a celebration, or simply a chance to spend time together, Mary’s love was expressed through her presence. Her grandchildren will forever remember her unwavering support, her excitement for every milestone, and the way she made each of them feel deeply cherished. Mary treasured every moment spent traveling with her children and grandchildren. Whether it was a simple weekend getaway, trips to NYC and Broadway shows, boating on the lake, or a long planned family vacation to Disney, she embraced each trip with excitement and joy. These adventures became some of her most cherished memories — exploring new places, sharing laughter, and creating traditions that her family will carry forward for generations. Being together was what mattered most to her, and she made every journey feel special.

Mary cherished the simple joys of life, especially the time spent with her dear girlfriends during their monthly pinochle card games. Those gatherings were filled with laughter, friendly competition, and the kind of companionship that nourishes the soul. It was a tradition she looked forward to every month — a circle of friendship that brought her comfort, joy, and countless treasured memories.

Mary also treasured the special adventures she shared with her girlfriends. Their vacation travels together were filled with laughter, stories, and the kind of joy that comes from lifelong friendship. Whether they were exploring new places or simply enjoying each other’s company, those trips became some of her most cherished memories — moments of fun, freedom, and companionship that she held close to her heart.

A devoted member of the Endicott community, Mary retired from the Union Endicott Central School District and continued a life of service rooted in faith and compassion. As an active member of the Church of the Holy Family, she generously volunteered at Funeral Luncheons and contributed her time to the Altar & Rosary Society, Ladies Guild, Human Development, and the Church Bazaar. Her commitment to helping others extended beyond the parish. She served as the AARP Sunshine Chairperson, contributed to the Newsletter, and sat on the Board of Directors. She also offered care and support through the American Red Cross and the Broome County Council of Churches, embodying a lifelong dedication to kindness, community, and service.

A Funeral Mass for Mary will be held on Monday, September 28th at 11 am at Church of the Holy Family, 3600 Phyllis Street, Endwell. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Johnson City. The family will receive friends on Monday the 28th at Church from 10 am until Mass time at 11 am.

In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy in Mary’s memory may be made to the American Heart Association in remembrance of her husband and our father.
