Endwell

Mary (Sax) Marean RN, 82, of Endwell, NY died on August 30, 2026. She was predeceased by her parents, Charles and Dorothy, and her brother, Chuck. She is survived by her high-school sweetheart and husband, Al (a relationship of more than 65 years), her daughters Joy (John) Marean Hickey and Mary Kathleen (Stephen) McGovern, grandchildren Patrick & Colin McGovern and Elizabeth Hickey, her brother-in-law Bob (Michele) Marean, her sisters-in-law Betsy Marean-Frankl and Judy Marean, her nephews David Marean & Kevin Sax, and her nieces, Kim Ludden, Christina Sax, Vickie Sax, & Kelley Sax-Francis.

A native of Binghamton, Mary graduated from Central High and was the proud recipient of a diploma from St. Joseph’s Hospital School of Nursing in Elmira. Beloved by her patients, Mary had a 35-year career as a Registered Nurse at Lourdes Hospital and several different primary care offices. Her biggest joy, however, was celebrating the many large and small accomplishments of her children and grandchildren.

The family would like to express their profound gratitude and great appreciation for the compassionate, loving care provided to Mary by her personal caregivers Debbie, Donna, Janiah, Joann, and Talitha.

Mary’s joyful faith-filled presence, generous heart, loyalty, kindness, devotion, and immense love were gifts to all who knew her – most especially to those who called her Sweetheart, Mom, and Grammie. May all of us who knew Mary take great comfort in God’s promise of eternal life and pray for the peaceful repose of her beautiful soul.

A Funeral Mass for Mary will be held on Friday, September 4th at 10 am at Church of the Holy Family, 3600 Phyllis Street, Endwell. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Johnson City.
