Mary Lou Phillips

Mary Lou Phillips, 79, of Endwell, passed away Saturday, July 2, 2016. She was predeceased by a son Michael; parents Francis and Ann Gaffney and a sister Carolyn Burdette. She is survived by her beloved husband of 56 years George; three sons, Christopher; Robert (Kathy) and George (Diana) Phillips; three granddaughters Heather; Jessica and Rachel; five grandsons Robbie; Kevin; George; Michael and Martin; three great grandchildren Jacob; Lily and James and a sister Ellen Ragiel. Mary Lou graduated from Hornell High School and worked for seven years on the Eire Railroad. She was a member of Christ the King Church, Endwell for 44 years until its closing and joined Church of the Holy Family, Endwell in 2008. Mary Lou was an active volunteer for the Ladies of Charity, distributing clothing to needy families. She also volunteered at Mom’s House, Altar and Rosary Society, Ladies Guild, where she worked Fish Fries and funeral luncheons, teaching CCD for 13 years, garage sales, Eucharistic Minister for 20 years as well as many other church activities. Mary Lou enjoyed raising her children and helping with all her grandchildren and great grandchildren, whom she loved dearly and made her happy.

Funeral Services will be held Wednesday 9:15 am from the Allen Memorial Home, 511-513 East Main Street, Endicott, followed by a Funeral Mass at Church of the Holy Family at 10 am. Burial will be in Riverhurst Cemetery, Endicott. The family will receive friends at the Allen memorial Home Tuesday from 4-7 pm. Expressions of sympathy in her memory may be made to Catholic schools of Broome County or Ladies of Charity or Catholic Relief Services.
