Michael E. Rusnak passed into God’s hands on Friday, August 8, 2025, at the age of 95.
For the past five years, Mike resided in Frederick, Maryland, with his immediate family, though his permanent home was in Endicott, New York.
He was predeceased by his beloved wife, Jeanne Rusnak, with whom he will now be reunited forever. He was also predeceased by his brother-in-law, William (Bill) Stone, and sister-in-law, Anne Stone.
Mike is survived by his oldest son, Michael W. Rusnak, and his wife, Lynne Rusnak; and his youngest son, James Rusnak, and his wife, Susan Rusnak. A loving and dedicated grandfather—most fondly known as “Pop-Pop”—he is also survived by his grandchildren: Nicole Mancuso and her husband, Mikey; Michael J. Rusnak and his wife, Sirley Almeida; Alexis Rusnak; Ryan Rusnak and his wife, Daniella; Meghan Rusnak and her fiancé, Matt Eli; Christopher Beekey and his fiancé, Mikaila Fitzpatrick; and Matthew Beekey. Mike was also a proud great-grandfather to Benjamin Rusnak and Katherine Rusnak.
His extended family in the Scranton, Pennsylvania, area includes several dear nieces and their spouses, a beloved nephew and his wife, great-nephews, great-nieces, and cousins.
Born in Taylor, Pennsylvania, to Michael and Olga Rusnak, Mike proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy. He went on to graduate from Penn State University, remaining a loyal Nittany Lion for life.
Mike enjoyed a long career as an electrical engineer with IBM Endicott, where he built lifelong friendships, treasured memories, and more than a few golf teams.
Above all, Mike was a devoted family man, never missing an opportunity to attend a sporting event for his grandchildren. He was very much a mentor to his entire family. He gave generously of his time, volunteering for Meals on Wheels and serving as a videographer for United Methodist Church. He will be remembered as a kind, gentle soul who loved a good laugh and a good Manhattan.
Funeral Service will be held, 10 am, Monday, August 18, at Central United Methodist Church 17 Nanticoke Avenue, Endicott. Burial will be in Vestal Hills Memorial Park Cemetery, Vestal.
The family will receive friends at the Allen Memorial Home, 511-513 East Main Street, Endicott, Sunday, August 17, form 3-5 pm.
