Michael Thomas Wilczewski, 68, of Maine, NY, peacefully passed away on Wednesday, August 12, 2026, at Wilson Memorial Hospital.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Pearl (Letkiewicz) Wilczewski, and his brothers, Jack and David.
He is survived by his wife, Sharon; his children, Joseph (Marie) and Kathryn (Jerry); and his grandchildren, Lukas, Brielle, and Eliza.
Born on January 30, 1958, in Dickson City, PA, to John and Pearl Wilczewski, Mike grew up attending Mid Valley High School in Throop, PA. After graduating from Johnson School of Technology, Mike moved to Endicott, New York, where he took a job at IBM. He later married his high school sweetheart, Sharon, and bought a home in Maine, New York. Together, they completely renovated an old house and spent nearly 50 years in the same home.
From an early age, Mike developed a love for hunting and fishing, passions first introduced to him by his father. Later, he was able to share that love with his children. Mike was fortunate to enjoy these activities all the way up until his passing.
With a fierce passion for conservation and a love of hunting, Mike became a hunter safety instructor, teaching future hunters of New York State the importance of ethical and safe hunting practices. He continued working with the Hunter Safety program for over three decades.
In the early 1980s, Mike and Sharon joined the Binghamton Boating Club on Seneca Lake, spending every summer weekend and vacation cruising the lake, fishing, camping, and making lifelong friendships. Many weekends were spent on the boat, towing the kids on tubes or teaching them to waterski.
Later in life, Mike enjoyed traveling with Sharon and friends on many cruises to countless islands and countries throughout the Caribbean. He couldn’t wait to plan his next adventure.
As a parishioner at Most Holy Rosary Church, Mike was also a member of the Knights of Columbus. He spent many Sundays volunteering, making pancakes, and doing his part to strengthen the community through the church.
Mike retired in 2023 from the Biomedical Engineering Department at Lourdes Hospital. Though retirement did have some medical hiccups, he was able to thoroughly enjoy this chapter of his life, including spending more time with his wife and friends on Seneca Lake, watching his grandkids at baseball and softball games and swim meets, and continuing to put TLC into his land and home.
Mike had many titles throughout his too-short but incredibly full life, but none meant more to him than Husband, Dad, and Papa. These were the roles he was most proud of and cherished above all else.
He will be deeply missed, but his love, laughter, and memory will live on forever in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.

A Funeral Mass for Mike will be held on Wednesday, August 19, 2026 at 11 am at Most Holy Rosary Church, 36 Main Street, Maine, NY. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, August 18, from 4-6 pm at the Allen Memorial Home, 511-513 E. Main Street, Endicott.
