Michelle Mary Codner passed peacefully on Monday, August 22, 2022 at the age of 68. Born January 12th, 1954 in Endicott, NY to Ken & Mary Codner of Glen Mary Drive (Owego) she forged an illustrious academic career graduating from OFA 1972, earned a Nursing Diploma from Charles S. Wilson Hospital School of Nursing 1975, B.S of Nursing SUNY Utica-Rome 1980, & Master’s of Science Nursing Syracuse University 1995 with honors.
Her chosen duty as a nurse was carried out at Wilson NICU & Pediatrics Unit 1975 – 2007, SUNY Broome Clinical Instructor 1995 – 2005, & she enjoyed her most meaningful impact working for the Broome County Head Start/Family Enrichment Network JCNY as Health Services Coordinator from 2007 until her passing. An avid volunteer she served as NYSNA District 5 President 2001-2003, Health Care Consultant for momshouseny.org and was an ASHI Certified CPR/AED/First Aid Instructor.
In harmonious accordance with her wishes as a champion for organ donation her kidneys were recovered & transplanted successfully, multiple organs were accepted for research, and her skin/bone/tissue/eye contributions will impact 75-100 lives.
She is eternally adored by her son, siblings, extended family, friends, & co-workers. In remembrance of her life and work please donate to familyenrichment.org.
A memorial service and celebration of her life as a woman of family, academics, volunteering, & nursing will be held Saturday, 2pm, August 27th at the Allen Memorial Home, 511-513 East Main St. Endicott. The family will receive friends at 1 pm & service is at 2 pm
