Norma Zweig went to her final rest on January 3, 2026. She was predeceased by her parents, William and Pearl Casto, her beloved husband Carl (after 60 years of marriage), son-in-law John Furey, sister Billie Houtz and brother Thomas Casto.
She is survived by one son, John (Robyn) Zweig of Salisbury, MD and 2 daughters Linda Furey of East New Market, MD and Joan (Mark) Toepke of Bumpas, VA. Six grandchildren; Jennifer Zweig, Nathan Zweig, Lauren Harris, Shane Furey, Mark Smith and Angela Smith, 7 great grandchildren, 4 nieces and 7 nephews.
Norma was a retired IBM employee, a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother (GG). She was an avid golfer, with two club championships, loved bowling, sewing, all kinds of needlework, cooking and gardening, She knitted booties for Birthright for many years.
A funeral mass will be held at The Church of the Holy Family on April 18th at 11 am. Visitation at the church prior to the service from 10-11 am. Family and friends are invited to celebrate Norma’s life in the church social hall immediately following the service. Interment will be private.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Catholic Charities in Binghamton or Mercy House of the Southern Tier, Endicott.
