Paul G. Nanni

Paul Nanni, 85, of Vestal, NY, passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 6, 2026, at the New York State Veterans Home in Oxford, NY, following a brief illness.

Paul was born on January 5, 1941, in Binghamton, NY, the son of Peter and Yolanda Nanni. He grew up on Binghamton’s Southside and graduated from Binghamton North High School. Paul served in the U.S. Army and spent his career as an employee of NYSEG before retiring.

He is survived by his devoted wife of 59 years, Ginger (Charno) Nanni; his loving daughter, Lisa Joy (Nanni), and her husband, Sean; and his beloved grandson, Jon, who was the light of his life. He is also survived by his sister, Petre Mondolfi and her husband, Jimmy; sister-in-law Linda Nanni; sister-in-law Carol Tokos; and many aunts, nieces, nephews and cousins who will cherish his memory. Paul was predeceased by his parents, Peter and Yolanda Nanni, and his brother, Anthony Nanni.

Paul was a simple man who found happiness in the things he loved and the life he built with his family. He was a man of many talents and could fix or build just about anything. Give Paul a hammer and a saw and he was happy. One of his proudest projects was building a family room onto his home, creating a special place where his family could gather and make memories together.

He also took great pride in his vegetable garden, especially his grapevine in which he produced many great bottles of wine. But if there was one thing Paul loved nearly as much as his family, it was the New York Yankees. He was their biggest fan and rarely missed an opportunity to follow his favorite team.

Paul will be remembered for his quiet nature, his hardworking hands, his many talents, his love of family, and the simple joys that made him happy. Above all, he was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather, and his family will carry his memory in their hearts forever.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, August 13, from 9:30–10:30 a.m. at Our Lady of Sorrows Church, 801 Main Street, Vestal, NY. A Memorial Mass will follow at 10:30 a.m.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Paul’s memory may be made to The Humane Society or to a charity of the donor’s choice.

Paul may have lived a simple life, but the love he gave his family and the memories he created will last a lifetime.
