Rachel J.Pittarelli(Sbarra) 83, of Endicott, NY passed away on September 3, 2016 at Wilson Memorial Hospital.Rachelwas predeceased by her husband Ernest, her parents EugeneSbarraand PaulineMonforte(Sbarra),in-laws Nicholas andConcettaPittarelli, brothers and sisters-in-laws Josephand Kay, Henry and Florence,MaryPittarelli and many aunts, uncles and cousins. She is survived by herlovingtwin sister MarieBoreffi, Jupiter Florida, her son Eugene (Lisa)Pittarelliand daughters Gerianne (Jim) Kane, Michelle (Jeff) Rogers and the loves of her life her special grandchildren Ryan (Margaret) and Devin Kane.She isalso survived by her sister-in-law EldaPittarelli, godchildren,several nieces, nephews, cousins and so many special friends that we could not possibly name them all.Rachelwas adedicatedteacher for the Union Endicott School district where she taught 3rd grade at George W. Johnson for 33 years. Born and raised on the North Side of Endicott,fluent in Italian,she wasaninstrumental interpreter and teacherforItalianstudents, teachers andfamilies,as well asa tutor forItalian students in her own home. She was an avid fan of Yankee’s Baseball,and loved attendingher grandchildren’s sporting events, concerts, and graduations. Sheplayed the piano,enjoyed a varietyof music, and loved to cook and bake for her family and many others.She was a very kind, loving, and giving Mom and Grandma to many. AdevoutCatholic, Rachelwas a memberof St. Anthony of Padua Church andattendeddaily masses and prayer groups atSt. Ambrose and Church of the Holy Family.

Funeral Services will be held Wednesday 11:30 am from the Allen Memorial Home 511-513 East Main Street Endicott followed by a Funeral Mass at St. Anthony of Padua at 12 pm. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery Johnson City. The family will receive friends at the memorial home on Tuesday from 4-7 pm.In lieu of flowers,expressions of sympathy may be made to St. Jude’sChildrens’ Research Hospital, the American Heart Association or the charity of ones’ choice.
