Richard “Roachie” Roach

Richard “Dick” Paul Roach aka Roachie, 79, of Vestal passed peacefully at Willow Point Nursing Home on Tuesday, November 13, 2018. He was preceded by his wife, Maria and parents Rose and Paul, sister Marguerite and son Richard. He is survived by his daughters Tara Roach, Leisha (Bill) Huff and son Ryan (Alexandra) Roach. He was an active member of the community belonging to the parish of Saint John and Andrew Catholic Church and The Sons of Italy. He was passionate in all endeavors; as a commercial painter, fruit and flower stand operator, race horse owner and manger and as the originator of The Ale House, The Ale House 2, and The Sports bar. He was a loyal friend, a devout husband and dedicated father. He valued his job as a “mixologist” because it gave him an opportunity to meet new people. Roachie was born to entertain; whether family, friend or just a recent acquaintance, he would treat you like family.
The family will receive friends at the Allen Memorial Home, 511-513 East Main Street, Endicott on Thursday, November 29th from 12-2 pm. A celebration to follow on Thursday at the Sons of Italy, 62 Carroll Street, Binghamton from 4 pm-7 pm. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy in his memory may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
