Robert P. Schuerch

Robert P. “Bob” Schuerch, 56, passed away peacefully Sunday morning May 12, 2013 at his home. Bob had a very brief battle with cancer. He was born in Quincy, MA, on September 28, 1956. He is survived by his loving wife of 35 years, Patricia W. Schuerch, his three sons, Robert G. Schuerch and Joy L. Westby, James N. Schuerch and Brian M. Schuerch, all of Vestal, NY. Bob is also survived by his parents, Capt. Richard and Phyllis Schuerch; three sisters, Lorna and Mike Barker, Laurie Lindquist, Penny Drum; three brothers, Richard “Kip” and MaryAnn Schuerch, Scott Schuerch and Larry and Carol Ann Schuerch; and numerous nieces and nephews. Bob served in the US Navy from 1974-1978. He spent many years coaching hockey in the Southern Tier Hockey Association and the Vestal High School Hockey Club program, he enjoyed spending time around loved ones and meeting new faces. He always enjoyed boating, playing guitar, cooking and entertaining. Bob had a charming and outward personality that made an impression with everyone he met and he will forever be greatly missed. A special thanks to Bob’s Aunt Carol Johnston for her incredible strength, guidance and support to our family during this painful time. We are planning a memorial service for Bob for the end of June.
