Sally A. Russell

December 11, 1948 — April 11, 2026

Endicott

Sally Russell, of Endwell, passed away peacefully on April 10, 2026, at the age of 77. She was predeceased by her parents, Evelyn and Bill Spring; her husband and best friend, Bob Russell; and their son, Bradford Russell.
Sally is survived by her three sisters, Suzanne Spring, Mary (Jim) Mulligan, and Sharon Tzivanis; her brother, Bill (Elizabeth) Spring; her daughter-in-law, Alexandra Russell; and many relatives from both the Spring and Russell families.
Sally was a proud graduate of Marywood University, where she formed many lifelong friendships. After graduating, she taught Home Economics at Maine-Endwell Middle School for several years before entering the restaurant business with her husband, Bob.
Together, Sally and Bob owned and operated several beloved establishments, including Endwell Greens Golf Club, Surf n’ Turf, and Russell’s Steakhouse. While Bob managed the back of the house, Sally was the charismatic hostess who led the front with grace, confidence, and a warm smile. A former employee once referred to her as “Fearless,” a nickname that stayed with her for many years and reflected the steady leadership and poise she brought to even the busiest evenings.
Throughout their years in the restaurant industry, Sally and Bob mentored dozens of future chefs, restaurateurs, and hospitality professionals. They treated their staff like family and created an environment where people felt valued, supported, and cared for.
To this day, people fondly recall the famous pumpkin bread and prime rib soup from Surf n’ Turf and Russell’s Steakhouse, as well as the many celebrations and milestones shared within their walls. It meant so much to Sally to hear the memories and stories people carried with them from those experiences.
Above all, Sally’s greatest joy was her son, Brad. Whether cheering him on during his ice hockey career at Penn State or watching him grow up working alongside her and Bob in the family restaurant from a young age, she was immensely proud. Her family finds comfort in knowing that Sally is now reunited with Bob and Brad.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated, 11 am, Friday, April 24 at St. Joseph’s Church, 207 Hayes Avenue, Endicott.
